Tacoma Little Theatre's Off the Shelf program presents the moving true story, The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, written Moises Kaufman, Leigh Fondakowski, Greg Pierotti, Andy Paris, and Stephen Belber, with direction by Warren Kerr This production will play Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 7:30pm.
On October 6, 1998, gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard left the Fireside Bar with Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson. The following day he was discovered on a prairie at the edge of town, tied to a fence, brutally beaten, and close to death. Six days later Matthew Shepard died at Poudre Valley Hospital in Ft. Collins, Colorado. On November 14th, 1998, ten members of Tectonic Theatre Project traveled to Laramie, Wyoming, and conducted interviews with the people of the town. Over the next year, the company returned to Laramie six times and conducted over 200 interviews. These texts became the basis for the play The Laramie Project. Ten years later on September 12th, 2008, five members of Tectonic returned to Laramie to try to understand the long-term effect of the murder. They found a town wrestling with its legacy and its place in history. In addition to revisiting the folks whose words riveted us in the original play, this time around, the company also spoke with the two murderers, McKinney and Henderson, as well as Matthew's mother, Judy Shepard. THE LARAMIE PROJECT: 10 YEARS LATER is a bold new work, which asks the question, "How does society write its own history?"
The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later features the talents of: Ethan Hinze, Ana Bury-Quinn, Mark Peterson, Rachael Telford, Russ Coffey, Jenifer Gillis-Rifenbery, Scott C. Brown, Karla Gjerde-Seman, Devin Jackson, and Deniece Bleha.

Tacoma Little Theatre's Off the Shelf program is excited to present Peter Quilter’s heartfelt story, 4000 Days, directed by Jeffery Swiney-Weaver and featuring some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest actors. This production will play Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 7:30pm.
What would you do if you forgot the last decade of your life? After a blood clot unexpectedly formed in his brain, Michael has been in a coma for three weeks. Watching over him in hospital is his bitter mother Carol and his dull but well-meaning partner Paul. They are united in their grief over Michael, and in their intense dislike of each other. When Michael wakes, they realize that 11 years of his memory have been completely erased. He remembers nothing of the last 4000 days. He remembers nothing of Paul. It is as though the relationship never existed. Paul must now fight to bring Michael’s memory back while Carol fights to remove him from their lives completely. Michael, still charming and witty, concentrates his recovery on creating a giant mural on the back wall of his hospital room. An expression of his loss, his hopes, and his desire to live his life as the man he was 11 years ago, not the man he has become.
4000 Days features the talents of: Rodman Bolek (Paul), Chris Serface (Michael), and Jennifer Aylsworth (Carol).
Tickets for the March 12, 2020 performance at 7:30pm are $10.00 for non TLT Members, and FREE for those who are members. Tickets may be purchased online at www.tacomalittletheatre.com, or by calling our Box Office at (253) 272-2281.

Tacoma Little Theatre's Off the Shelf program is excited to present David Lindsay-Abaire’s crazy comedy, Fuddy Meers, directed by Suzy Willhoft and featuring some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest actors. This production will play Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 7:30pm.
Claire has a rare form of psychogenic amnesia that erases her memory whenever she goes to sleep. This morning, like all mornings, she wakes up a blank slate. Her chipper husband comes in with a cup of coffee, explains her condition, hands her a book filled with all sorts of essential information, and he disappears into the shower. A limping, lisping, half-blind, half-deaf man in a ski mask, pops out from under her bed and claims to be her brother, there to save her. Claire's info book is quickly discarded, and she's hustled off to the country-house of her mother, a recent stroke victim whose speech has been reduced to utter gibberish. Claire's journey gets even more complicated when a dimwitted thug with a foul-mouthed hand puppet pops up at a window, and her driven husband and perpetually stoned son show up with a claustrophobic lady-cop that they've kidnapped. Every twist and turn in this funhouse plot bring Claire closer to revealing her past life and everything she thought she'd forgotten. It's one harrowing and hilarious turn after another on this roller coaster ride through the day of an amnesiac trying to decipher her fractured life. This poignant and brutal comedy traces one woman's attempt to regain her memory while surrounded by a curio-cabinet of alarmingly bizarre characters.
Fuddy Meers features the talents of: Claire Garcia, Annette Hockman, Ashley MacPhail, Luke Amundson, Mark Peterson, Chris Serface, and Charlie Stevens.

OUTSIDE MULLINGAR - An Off the Shelf reading

Tacoma Little Theatre's Off the Shelf program is excited to present John Patrick Shanley’s, Outside Mullingar, directed by Curt Hetherington and featuring some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest actors. This production will play Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 7:30pm.
Anthony and Rosemary are two introverted misfits straddling 40. Anthony has spent his entire life on a cattle farm in rural Ireland, a state of affairs that—due to his painful shyness—suits him well. Rosemary lives right next door, determined to have him, watching the years slip away. With Anthony’s father threatening to disinherit him and a land feud simmering between their families, Rosemary has every reason to fear romantic catastrophe. But then, in this very Irish story with a surprising depth of poetic passion, these yearning, eccentric souls fight their way towards solid ground and some kind of happiness. Their journey is heartbreaking, funny as hell, and ultimately deeply moving. Outside Mullingar is a compassionate, delightful work about how it’s never too late to take a chance on love.
Outside Mullingar features the talents of: Peter Cook (Tony), Jed Slaughter (Anthony), Brynne Garman (Aoife), and Alyson Soma (Rosmary).
Tickets for the September 19, 2019 performance at 7:30pm are $10.00 for non TLT Members, and FREE for those who are members. Tickets may be purchased online at www.tacomalittletheatre.com, or by calling our Box Office at (253) 272-2281.
