Does your student want to grow as an actor, singer, and dancer? Do they dream of taking on auditions at school or in the community? This Spring Break, TLT would like to invest in our students through a series of intensive classes - tailored for their needs and experience. We love putting on shows with our students, but often wish we had more time to guide, coach, and teach without the pressure of putting on a whole show.
There is still a performance opportunity at the end of this camp! We will work together and share a group musical number or two to show off the music and dance skills they build during camp. They'll spend some time throughout the week learning music and choreography - building skills and knowledge in rhythm, music reading, pitch matching, harmony, the 8-count in dance, stage presence, vocal and physical dynamics, and so much more through the process. We'll film this performance to share with families and friends.
Through acting, music, and movement workshops, all students will build skills that can help them with auditions and also to be contributing members of a cast.
Our older students (12+) will also build their 'theatre portfolio' with audition materials which they will prepare throughout the week (for acting, singing, and dancing). This will include a filmed ‘reel’ with a slate and at least one of the monologues or songs they practice during the week. We’ll have appointments on Saturday the 8th for those 12+ to come in and be filmed and have a professional headshot taken. Our younger actors can also sign-up to attend the headshot session and get their photo taken on Saturday.
All students will enjoy classes or coaching in music, movement, and acting to prepare them not only for the end result of this camp, but for their future as artists and as confident people and quality communicators. We'll use games, crafts, and activities to teach about listening, focus, and storytelling as well! You won't believe how much your kids can do and learn in just one week.
We've assembled a great team of local artists and educators to come and deliver hands-on, active lessons in the performance arts as well as to offer coaching and guidance to students.
