ANNUAL FUND DRIVE

Dear Friend of Tacoma Little Theatre:

We are so excited for our 99th Season at Tacoma Little Theatre. Thank you for coming and laughing with us during our first show of the season, Rumors. Because of your continuing support, we’ve started the 99th Season off strong! Last year even more of our community joined us to experience Tacoma’s finest theatre. We were especially proud to win our state theatre competition and represent Washington in the American Association of Community Theatre Regional festival in Boise, Idaho with our production of Second Samuel. This year we know you will enjoy the wide spectrum of shows that we have lined up for you.

“I am very pleased with the direction of TLT. I have been a long standing season ticket holder. The entire staff have taken TLT to a new level -- consistently good plays with excellent acting, great public relations and consequently better attendance. Please keep up the excellent work!” -A TLT Season Ticket Holder

As we move towards our 100th season and our 78th year in our facility, we’ve heard how you would like to see us improve TLT. “It is time to revamp the seats. They are so uncomfortable. Need a drive to donate a chair” In the past few years you’ve seen us add an air conditioning system, improved stage and house lighting, and sound reinforcement. We take your suggestions seriously so stay tuned as our Development Director works on exciting plans celebrating our 100th year with your ideas in mind. Also, check around the corner and you’ll see that TLT has acquired the building next door, fondly named Stage Right. This has allowed us to localize our scene shop and storage facility which was previously off-site. By purchasing Stage Right, we are now saving money, staff time, and will be able to expand our educational programming in the near future.

“You have no idea how much you changed our lives!! I never thought I would hear the singing again, the laughs or see my son be willing to trust again, but you did it! Now he is so full of life again, nothing can ever tell you all how thankful we are!” -A parent of TLT’s Education Program

The demand to expand our education programming within our community is at a record high. With your support we were able to increase it by 10% with more to come in 2018. This growth matches the need to increase the number of scholarships awarded to those who might not be able to experience the joy of the Performing Arts. Your support helps TLT create future performers who will grace the stages in Pierce County. These scholarships change lives.

“We love plays and TLT has the best in our area. The quality of shows has been consistently high in recent years. You're doing a terrific job. Thank you!” -A TLT patron

Ticket sales alone will not sustain the performing arts in our community. It is only through the continued support of our community members that the arts can thrive. Your support through last season's annual fund allowed TLT to whisk you away to a misty Transylvania in Dracula and the dusty plains of the Old West in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. Because of YOU, we will continue to be able to take you to new places that you’ve never dreamed of, like Whoville in Seussical. We offer a range of donation options that are listed at the bottom of this letter. You can even pledge your donation amount over a monthly or quarterly payment schedule. If you are interested in establishing a legacy gift of support through planned (estate) giving or stock transfers, please contact me directly. Remember that any amount helps us, from $1 to $10,000. TLT is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization making your donation fully tax-deductible.

If you have already donated to us this season, thank you! If you are considering donating to us now, thank you! Please fill out the bottom portion of this letter or go to www.tacomalittletheatre.com to make a donation online. To donate over the phone, you may call me personally at 253-272-2281. Having the chance to speak with you is one of the best parts of my job.

All my best,
Chris Serface
Managing Artistic Director
