Ashley Young

BOARD TERM 2026-2029

Ashley Young is a lifelong Pacific Northwest resident who is proud to call Tacoma home. Although she has lived throughout the United States, Ashley and her longtime partner, Michael, returned to Tacoma in 2017 to raise their two children and invest in the community they have always considered home.

Ashley’s passion for the arts began at an early age through singing and performing, including touring nationally with a performing arts nonprofit and performing with local bands. Those experiences sparked a lifelong appreciation for the power of arts and community.

With more than two decades of experience in hospitality, venue management, and event planning, Ashley now serves as the Special Event Coordinator for Tacoma Venues & Events with the City of Tacoma. She oversees the City’s Special Event and Film Permit programs, serves as staff liaison to the City Events & Recognitions Committee (CERC), and works collaboratively with community partners to support safe, successful, and impactful events throughout Tacoma.

Ashley is passionate about creating accessible, welcoming community experiences through arts, culture, and special events. She believes well-produced events strengthen neighborhoods, celebrate diverse communities, and create meaningful connections for everyone.
